July 1st Google Doodle Highlights AI Mode

Google’s July 1st Doodle spotlights AI Mode with a vibrant gradient “G,” immersive animations, and interactive search enhancements, inviting users to “search like never before.”

Today, Google continues to highlight its AI Mode with a Doodle under the theme of "search like never before." On Android, iOS, and desktop, the Chrome New Tab page displays the new gradient ‘G’ logo made of red, yellow, green, and blue dots. Set against a dark background, the static image gives an impression of outer space, which initially captured my interest.

In the US, both logged-in and logged-out users on google.com are greeted with an animated wordmark where the letters blend into the ‘G’ icon. This animation is also featured in the Google app and at the Discover feed's top on mobile devices. The imagery effectively demonstrates how AI Mode synthesizes and summarizes information.

Clicking on the Doodle directs you to an “AI Mode” Search results page, similar to other Doodles. An engaging AI Overview presents an explanation, adorned with a gradient in the top-left corner. On the homepage, a tagline reading "Try AI Mode and search like never before" sits beneath the Search bar. This space is typically reserved by Google to advertise products, such as Pixel phones, apps, and services. By clicking this, users can navigate to google.com/aimode.

AI Mode is now fully accessible in the US following its announcement at I/O 2025, with India as the first international market trial. Besides this Doodle, I’ve recently noticed numerous AI Mode advertisements, including those on Reddit.

Looking ahead, Google is experimenting with Search Live, enabling interactions with AI Mode as well as an upcoming camera mode. Upcoming features include Deep Search, which provides personal context by accessing Gmail, and agentic abilities like finding and purchasing tickets.
